Education
Most experts agree that one of the most effective
tools in the fight against identity theft is education.
As such, in each program an education component is included
that usually takes two approaches.
Website
The first is to provide the covered participant
with an inbound website. In the website the participant
will have access to a complete knowledge base of identity
theft.
Typical websites will include much of the
following:
- The basics of identity theft
- History
- Laws
- Policies
- Recent Fraud alerts
- Legal opinions
- Articles
- White papers
- White papers
- Risk assessment tools
- Protection advisories
- Computer Security information
- Knowledge library
Distributed Information
This second component of education is usually
distributed through email channels to covered participants.
The content changes and includes articles of current interest
such as new identity theft schemes, fraud alerts from one
or more sources (such as the FBI) and other timely information.
Newsletters are created by the vendor but
can be branded by the sponsoring organization
