What is a Group Identity Theft Program?
This type of program is not
dissimilar to other employer sponsored programs that you
offer such as Group Medical, Group Dental or Group Disability.
Like any group program it:
- Uses group buying power to reduce costs
- Provides a somewhat standardized level of benefits to
employees
- Assures vendor quality and capabilities
It has the following
general characteristics:
- Provides benefits to employees regarding all areas of
identity theft
- Benefits and all service are provided and handled by a
third party
- The program is paid for all or in part by the employer
- A contract is created between the vendor supplying the
specific services and the employer
- Program information is communicated through existing employer
channels such as email, house journal, newsletters, etc.
with the vendor supplying most if not all of the information
- If employee paid, payment is handled through payroll deduction
